S. Sargsyan partook in the events of the 95th anniversary of the YSU Faculties of History and Armenian Philology

On September 10 RA President and the Chairmen of the YSU Board Serzh Sargsyan took part in the jubilee events dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the foundation of the YSU Faculties of History and Armenian Philology at Yerevan State University.

At first, the Armenian President visited the Faculty of Armenian Philology, watched the exhibition dedicated to the jubilee, talked with some professors and students. Afterwards, Serzh Sargsyan took part in the solemn session dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the foundation of the aforementioned faculties at the YSU main building.

On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the foundation of the Faculties of Armenian Philology and History by the decrees of President Serzh Sargsyan a group of university professors and lecturers were awarded RA state decorations and RA Presidential Letters of Commendation for their contribution to the development of education and science and their many years’ effective scientific-pedagogical activities.

At the solemn session the Armenian President handed the state decorations and the Letters of Commendation and congratulated the university professors and the students on the jubilee. “Yerevan State University has made an invaluable contribution to the revival of the Armenian people subjected to genocide, the establishment of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic and the Republic of Armenia, and so many of the people sitting here and also your ancestors made their personal contribution to that. Thank you all,” said President Serzh Sargsyan in his congratulatory address.
