Sweden stands for peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict

Sweden’s foreign minister on Tuesday expressed her country’s support to the peaceful negotiations around Nagorno-Karabakh, reports “Armenpress”.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with FM Edward Nalbandian, Margot Wallström described her current visit to Armenia as a good opportunity to get more closely familiarized with the country’s perceptions of the long-lasting land dispute.

According to her there is a need of investing maximum efforts in ruling out an escalation, expressing hope that a final peace will be achieved under the umbrella of the OSCE Minsk Group, the international mission tasked to mediate peace between the conflicting parties.

She also talked about the Armenia-EU relations, expressing her country’s resolute support to the new cooperation document.

The minister also promised individualized approaches to separate member states to adjust different perspectives to specific needs and to develop the dialogue based upon the “more-for-more” principle.
