Armenia’s best secondary schools announced

Armen Ashotyan, Minister of Education and Science has published an index of the best secondary schools as part of a school evaluation and rating project launched in 2013.

The top three schools on the ranking are the basic school of the educational complex Mkhitar Heratsi, the Lord Byron School of Gyumri and the Misak Manouchian School of Yerevan.

“It is important for the Ministry in terms of encouraging the best. The rating helps identify and target the schools needing our help as well as for the schools’ principals and pedagogues to enable them to understand the existing problems and advantages,” Armen Ashotyan told reporters today, introducing the statistics.

Elementary and privately-owned schools are not included in the rating.
